Aloha Kakou means "Welcome to All"
A new island island thread

Old friends...new friends...lurkers. In lieu of the new PFY rules, I did make some changes to the beach house. It's bigger! Something we are definitely going to need if we are going to hang out and praise together (I've gotten into much praise dancing lately). I've made so many memories on the island thread over the years including meeting John and having fun with all of you!

So I hope to make even more...

Pick a hammock, eat my food, and jump in the beach. These are the only "rules" around here. Ha. Oh and of course fellowship with me!

Why, yes, yes he does! He brings his son.

Nice new thread.

Aloha everyone!

Hey you got the first post Rosie... Yeah, we like to draw people.

Hmm. I suppose I gotta be Mrs. Aloha if I have an Aloha thread huh. But don't let that stop the singles here from having their cabana boy. lol! Long story there. I'm sure that if you lurked long enough you would know the whole cabana boy story. Ha.

...

I suppose I can start off the new thread with an open invitation to ask me anything. Sort of like your QOTD for me.

You beat me to it Terri.

...maybe he's a single dad?? I'm sure you will eventually find out. You need me to tell you that though.

He does not wear a ring, but I haven't had the chance to ask if he is single or not.

Nah, just bat your eyes, smile a lot, and be friendly. That alone will tell you if he is single.

...or maybe not.

I am just elated to see some new faces today!

Marsha, if you don't mind me asking...what area of Ohio? My hubby John is from Cleveland.

We went there for our honeymoon. I loved Medina and Shagrin Falls. Very nice.

Yup. Born and raised. That is why the goodies I offer on this thread are pretty authentic. Ha.

I will have to ask John how familiar he is with the Dayton area. He loves Cleveland though. He showed me a few of his fave places growing up...The old Higbees and the Terminal Tower. He loves buildings.

I never heard of that variety but hey, chocolate from anywhere is good though.

...Hello Aloha peeps. May G-d bless you abundantly today!

Sigh... I made a mistake on our Passover Feast date and requested the wrong day off. It's the week prior. I'm hoping that I can change it. Someone may have already requested off for the 11th. If I miss that then there always Sunday too. This year it's a three day conference.

I have to say that I am very excited because Rabbi made an open invitation to those who attend regularly to be given a Hebrew name! He will be announcing everyone's Hebrew names on that Sunday. Bibically, only Rabbis can give Hebrew names. I wonder what he will choose for me? And for John? I'm soooo curious!

...first names in general have much meaning to G-d. I find it rather interesting how nowhere in the bible last names are mentioned. It's always ---, the son of ---

G-d is sooo amazing!

So today we drink to some good ol POG (Passion, Orange and Guava). Who wants to turn that into a POG milkshake?

(QOTD will return soon. Trying to think of more creative things)

Aloha Everyone

Cute new thread. I like it.

I miss the islands. It's been two years since we last vaccationed over there. We were there over Easter. Went to a nice church for Easter morning Service. We were on the island of Maui then. My dad, myself, and my two sisters, took our soon to be graduated daughters over for spring break. They were all on the high honors, and my daughter was also on the National Honor Society. It was "Gramps" treat to them all for doing so good in school
But we do have spring here in Wisconsin and the ice has melted off the lake out front. My granddaughter calls it "Grandma's Ocean" Hey..I can pretend right?

I'll have one of them Passion drinks and relax in that open hammock

Hi Bubbles5! Welcome to the new thread. I just absolutely love seeing you here. Oooh. Maui is a nice island. The next time you come, try Kauai. It's beautiful there. And hey, melted ice...whatever works!

So what color do you want your hammock to be?

Are one of you converted Jew, or do you just admire their traditions?

Yes Sarah, I already got you a purple one.

One ocean blue hammock for Bubbles coming up!

Marsha, neither my husband nor I are Jewish (although John maaaaay be if he really did a thorough study of his heritage). We are both Gentiles that attend a Messianic congregation with a believing Rabbi. We have both Jews and Gentiles at our congregation. I've been going for about 2 1/2 years now and I love it! John's name in Hebrew is Yochanan but who knows what will be given to him.

.....but as I realize how rich G-d's language is it brings me such closeness to G-d. And having a Hebrew name is a spiritual name. I plan to really dive into it so that I can enjoy the blessings of its meaning.

How's everyone doing today?

Aloha island peeps...

It's another blessed day. Today is special cause of all of you! Well, everyday is special because of you. So if you would all let me feed you some grilled pineapple crepes and some Kona coffee (POG for Darcy in case she comes) then that would make me a happy wahine. lol!

I'm looking forward to my schedule going back to normal. Starting at 1 PM really was good. I can get more done at home with that schedule. The last day at the old store was yesterday and today they are packin up and movin. I'll be the only one manning the new store today.

...anyone reading anything in particular right now? Right now, I'm in the book of Isaiah. Here's my first question of the day for the new thread!

What is the best kind of environment for you to read in?

Gosh I'm running a tad late. Be back later. Have fun chatting!
